How Solar Works

Every day, the sun shines onto the array of solar electric modules; electricity is generated and delivered to meet the building’s electrical load. In most cases, all of this power will be absorbed to serve the daily electrical requirements of the building. Excess power generated by the solar system can be fed to the local electric utility company and may be used to off-set the retail rate paid for electricity. Wherever a tiered rate or variable rate of electricity exists, this off-set can result in substantial savings in the cost of mid-day power.
