Run Your Electric Meter Backwards!
It doesn’t get any simpler than this. This new concept in generating your own renewable energy performs much like any large electrical appliance such as a clothes dryer or air conditioner, but instead of taking electrical
power FROM an outlet, you put electricity INTO the outlet! If at any time your wind and solar system is producing more energy than you are using, your electric meter will run backwards reducing your electric bill.
If your electrical loads are larger than the wind generator and solar production, your meter will slow down reflecting your reduced need to buy electricity at retail from the utility.
No batteries are used or required! You get up to 12 kilowatts of hybrid renewable electricity, 10 kilowatts from the new Ventera VT10 wind turbine and 2 kilowatts from solar photovoltaics 100% of which goes directly to reduce your electric bill by means of our exclusive dual input VI12 synchronous inverter.

Off-Grid: Renewable Power Systems
The system described and illustrated below supplies all the power the office and shop facility of DanMar & Associates in Woodstock, MN. This same unit could enable an individual residential dwelling to produce most (if not all) the electricity it needs. It has three primary components: electric generators; battery storage; and the inverter/battery charger.
Electric Generators
The system generates electricity from both sunlight and the wind. In daytime, photovoltaic (PV) panels convert sunlight into electricity. When the wind is blowing, it spins the wind turbine. Both generators can operate at the same time. Each system has 500 watts of PV generating capacity and 900 watts of wind generation capacity, for a total nameplate generation capacity of 1,400 watts, or 1.4 kilowatts. Wires from the PV panels and wind generator conduct electricity to the storage batteries for later use.
Battery Storage
The system's 24 volt wet-cell batteries that have a storage capacity of 700 amps hours, or about 16.8 kilowatt hours. The batteries require minimum maintenance: adequate water levels in the cells, which usually requires checking them twice a year. The storage system is sized so the household can continue functioning, with moderate load management, for more than a day in the impossible event that there is no sunshine or wind and electricity from the power co-op is not available.
Inverter and Battery Charger
Electricity generated by the PV panels and wind generator flows through the inverter/battery charger, and charges the batteries. As electricity is used in the home, the inverter function converts direct current electricity stored in the battery into alternating current, making it available on demand for use in the dwelling's electric circuits. The inverter function and battery charging function can operate simultaneously. Large electric and thermal electric loads, such as central air conditioning, electric water heaters, and perhaps large water pumps, must be isolated from this system and continue to be powered by electricity from the power co-op.
